WAEC Nov/Dec 2012 WASSCE results Released: Examination Statistics!
Educational News Reaching Our News Portal today is that 37.9% of the Nov/Dec 2012 Waec gce scored credit passes’in English and Mathematics as shared some few hours ago.
There has been a slight improvement in the candidate's performance in the November/December 2012 West African Senior School Certificate Examinations (WAEC) with a total of 150,615(One Hundred And Fifty Thousand, Six Hundred And Fifteen) candidates.
Representing 37.97% of the 396,614 candidates that wrote the examination recording credit passes in five subjects, which includes English and Mathematics.
While announcing the results of the Nov/Dec 2012 Waec examination on Friday, the Head of Nigerian National Office of the West African Examinations Council, Mr. Charles Eguridu, gce said that during the last year examination, only a total of 139,827 (36.07 per cent) of the candidates that wrote the examination made the minimum benchmark for entry into tertiary institution.
While 24.16 per cent achieved it in 2010.
Mr Eguridu also attributed the improved performance to increase investment in education by state governments.
Also Considering the core subjects singly, Mr Eguridu said 259,259 candidates (66.99 per cent) made credit passes in English Language, while 226, 606 (59.06 per cent) also made Credit Passes in Mathematics.
However, 47,289 candidates (11.04per cent) will have to wait until the Nigerian Examinations Committee (NEC) gce completes full investigations into their alleged involvement in examination malpractices before knowing if their results would be released or cancelled
