EPL Review: United complete double over Liverpool at Old Trafford

 



Daniel Sturridge came off the bench to score on his Liverpoool debut in the League, but Manchester United held on to win 2-1 and go 10 point clear of City for some hours at least.

Robin van Persie had opened scoring in the 19th minute – his 17th strike of this campaign – before Patrice Evra headed in United’s second.

Sturridge, was quickest to react after David de Gea palmed away steven Gerrard’s shot, to pull one back.

However, United held on to ensure they complete the double – they won 2-1 at Anfield – over their their bitter rivals.
