NBC banned_collageThe Nigerian Broadcasting Commission, has released a list of videos that have been banned from being played or aired.

P-Square’s ‘Alingo’, which is currently enjoying massive airplay, especially with the energetic dance steps that accompanies it, makes the cut. Other videos include D’Prince’s ‘Take Banana’, Flavour Nabania’s ‘Shake’, etc.

 

The list below show music videos that have been tagged NOT TO BE BROADCAST by NBC:

1. Tillaman ft Vector- Ma Roll (contains Intimate and suggestive dance steps)
2. Wande Coal – Go Low (scenes of nuditiy in the video)
3. D’Prince – Take Banana (contains Intimate, vulgar, words and suggestive dance steps)
4. Flavour – Shake (vulgar and suggestive dance steps)
5. Goldie – Ski bo bo (features minor with suggestive and immoral dance steps)
6. Chuddy K – Chop My Dollar (features ladies and children with suggestive and Intimate dance steps )
7. Timaya – Shake Ur Bum Bum (Intimate, suggestive dance steps with vulgar lyrics
8. P Square – Alingo (Intimate dance scenes at the end of the musical video)

“We have drunk people working in NBC” – D’Prince, P-Square, KCee, others condemn ban on videos

NBC banned_collageFour Nigerian artistes have condemned the recent ban of eight of their musical videos by the National Broadcasting Commission (NBC).

It would be recalled that P-Square’s ‘Alingo’, which is currently enjoying massive airplay, D’Prince’s ‘Take Banana’, Flavour Nabania’s ‘Shake’, Goldie’s skibobo and five other videos were recently banned by the commission.

Responding to the development, P-square through their publicist, Bayo Adetutu said, “we also just saw the story online this morning and we do not think that the NBC’s ban is justifiable.”

Mavin Records’ artiste, D’Prince on the other hand responded via twitter this afternoon. He said: “Apparenty NBC has banned Take Banana video and some others? Oh well more videos in works.”

Also, rising afro-hip hop star, Tillaman said whose video, Koma Roll was banned said: “So they banned my Koma Roll video… We ain’t letting this stop us! Expect our reply coming up in a bit.”

KCEE of the defunct pop group, KC Presh tweeted, “I think we have some drunk people working in NBC, what’s wrong with the videos they just banned?”

Amarachi-and-meets-the-Oba-of-Benin-450x600Amarachi Uyanne, winner of the just concluded Nigeria’s Got Talent reality TV show has been honored with an Excellence Awarded by the Oba of Benin, Omo No’ba N’edo Uku Akpolokpolo Erediauwa. The 8-year-old girl was awarded alongside ten other outstanding persons at this year’s edition of the annual Benin Achievers Recognition Awards, which held recently at the Royal Palace, Benin, Edo State capital.

The other awardees include: Justice Efe Ikponmwosa, Former Chairman of Nigerian Premier League and the Ohe of Benin kingdom Chief Oyuki Obaseki, media icon Soni Irabor and the late Nollywood veteran, Sam Loco Efe for his immense contribution to the entertainment industry.

The Vice Chancellor of the University of Benin (UNIBEN), Professor Osayuki Godwin Oshodin and Professor Osato Frank Giwa-Osagie of the College of Medicine, University of Lagos, were also awarded for their academic excellence.

Also honoured were the duo of Sir David Osunde and Pa Joseph Alufa Igbinovia of the Idia Mask sculpture fame which was a master piece at FESTAC 1977.
